The PERFECT Sauteed Mushrooms Recipe

If you love mushrooms, then this recipe is for you! We at Fit Foodie Finds found out how to make the BEST sautéed mushrooms. It’s ridiculously simple and allows the natural flavors of the mushrooms truly shine. The result? Deliciously cooked mushrooms that you can pair with or add to any dish (ahem, how ’bout our mushroom Swiss burgers?!)! We love how this recipe tastes with bella mushrooms, but you’re welcome to use your favorite kind of fresh mushrooms, such as white button mushrooms, cremini mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, etc. The world is your mushroom. 😉

Made with 3 Simple Ingredients

Bella mushrooms: we love how this recipe states with bella mushrooms, but you’re welcome to use your favorite kind of fresh mushrooms. Olive oil: we used olive oil for this recipe, but salted butter would also taste great. Salt: a bit of kosher salt really brings out the natural flavor of the mushrooms.

How to Make the Best Sautéed Mushrooms

PREPARE MUSHROOMS

Transfer all of the mushrooms into a strainer and rinse gently with cold water until there is no dirt on the mushrooms.  The perfect side dish to any main course. The mushrooms are cooked so that all great flavor shines. Requires only 3 simple ingredients. Then gently dry the mushrooms with a tea towel or paper towel. Set aside.

SAUTE MUSHROOMS

Next, heat olive oil in a large skillet pan over medium heat. Add the mushrooms to the pan and season them with salt.  Sauté the mushrooms for 10-15 minutes, stirring minimally to make sure the mushrooms aren’t sticking to the bottom of the pan.  Pro Tip: In the first few minutes of the cooking time, mushrooms will release any moisture they have, and that moisture will dissolve or get soaked back into the mushroom. Don’t be tempted to pour it out.  When the moisture is gone, and the mushrooms are glossy, remove them from the pan. If you would like crispier mushrooms, turn the heat up to high and sauté them for 1-2 additional minutes.

SERVE + ENJOY

There you have it! The perfect sautéed mushrooms.  Remove the mushrooms from the pan immediately and serve as a simple side dish, as a topping for burgers, or however your heart desires.  Enjoy!
